Sell your car: we sell it for you

We don't buy your car: we sell it for you. You bring it to our premises in Vilobí del Penedès, we prepare it, photograph it, list it and handle the viewings. You pay nothing up front and you know in writing, before you leave it, the exact euros you will get. When it sells, you get paid. And you choose between two contracts: option A, where you take it back whenever you want owing us nothing, or option B, where we buy it from you if it hasn't sold in 90 days.

What is selling your car by consignment?

Selling by consignment means the car stays yours and we sell it on your behalf. We don't make you an offer to buy it and resell it: we put it on the market at what it is really worth, and out of that price you get the amount we agreed in writing before we started.

The difference with a company buying it from you is simple: whoever buys your car today has to make money reselling it, so they offer you less. On consignment the car sells at market price and most of that price is yours. What we don't give you is the money today: we give it to you when the car sells.

What you pay up front0 €

No photos, no listings, no joining fee, nothing to pay if it doesn't sell.

Average time to sell at GSM36,1 días

Average of our cars sold in 2026. Half of them sold in 15 days or less (GSM internal data, 07/10/2026).

What you get80 %

80 % of the retail price if the car is ready to go; 70 % if the preparation is on us. Always in euros and in writing before you leave the car.

How many euros do you get? The 80 % and the 70 %

Plainly, and with a number. If your car is ready to sell, you get 80 % of its retail price. The remaining 20 % is our work: selling it, the paperwork, the warranty we give the buyer and the risk that it takes a while. If the car needs reconditioning, you get 70 %, and the reconditioning is on us.

Your carYou getGSM keeps
Nothing to do to it80 % of the retail price20 %
It needs reconditioning70 % of the retail price30 %, and the mechanics, the polishing and the cleaning are on us

And why 80 %: because that is what it takes for a good car to stay here. If we paid less, you would go to compramostucoche.es, to Flexicar or to OcasionPlus, and we would be left with the worst cars every time. We would rather pay well and sell well.

What is inside that 20 %

  • Mechanical check and diagnostics, and fixing whatever needs fixing.
  • Exterior reconditioning: bodywork, headlight polishing and wheels.
  • Full clean: upholstery done thoroughly, interior and engine bay.
  • Photo shoot at our own premises, with the GSM plate surround.
  • Writing the advert and publishing it on our site, on every portal and on social media, and paying for the featured listings.
  • Taking the calls, the messages and the emails, every day and for weeks.
  • Receiving the viewings here and showing the car over and over, in shop hours.
  • Going out on the test drives, with every interested buyer.
  • The two contracts: the sale agreement with you and the invoice to the buyer.
  • The DGT paperwork and the double change of ownership, which we handle.
  • The 12-month warranty to the buyer, which we stand behind, not you.
  • And the weeks of work until it closes, with the car taking up space on the forecourt and the risk on our side.

That is what you buy with the 20 %. Not one of those steps is paid for by you, not one is done by you, and not one is charged separately: it is inside the price and you know it before you sign.

And we want your car even if it's dirty. A car that needs reconditioning isn't in our way: it is our trade. We have our own workshop and our own detailing bay and we do it here every single day, with our own people and our own machines. That means two things for you: don't spend anything making it look good before bringing it in, and we won't punish the price over a headlight polish or upholstery that needs recovering. We recondition it ourselves and you get the most for your vehicle. It is explained at length in the blog article.

How it works, step by step

  1. You tell us about the car via the form or WhatsApp. Make, model, year, mileage and a few photos. That's enough for a first figure.
  2. We see it in person and value it for free. We look it over in our workshop, run the diagnostics and tell you the good and the bad. No obligation.
  3. We give you two figures, not one. What we'd pay you today if you'd rather have the money now, and what you'd get on consignment. You choose.
  4. We sign the contract. It states your figure in euros, the listing price, the term and what happens if it doesn't sell. You keep a copy.
  5. 🔧 It goes through the workshop, before the photos. Diagnostics, maintenance brought up to date and anything that needs fixing. A car shown with a strange noise sells late and sells badly, and you end up paying for that in the price.
  6. ✨ We recondition the outside and clean it thoroughly, also before the photos. Headlight polishing, bodywork, upholstery, engine bay and a proper full clean. It is our everyday detailing, so we don't subcontract it.
  7. We photograph it and list it. Photos with our own GSM plate surround (your number plate is never published), its own page on our site, the portals and social media.
  8. We front it. Calls, messages, viewings and test drives happen here. Nobody comes to your home and nobody calls you at eleven at night.
  9. It sells and you get paid. We handle the transfer and the paperwork, and you receive your money. No surprises, no last-minute discounts.
Look at the order of steps 5, 6 and 7. Mechanics first, then the exterior and the clean, and only then the photos. The usual thing in the trade is to photograph the car exactly as it comes through the door. We can do it the other way round because we have our own workshop and our own detailing and we use them every single day: the car is shown the way it should be shown, and that way you always get the most for your vehicle.

The double change of ownership, same day: the BATECOM

When we are the ones closing the sale there isn't one change of ownership, there are two, and both are done on the day of the sale. In the trade it is called a BATECOM. The DGT doesn't call it that: its official name is «baja temporal por entrega a compraventa» —temporary deregistration on handover to a dealer— and it appears in their systems under the code ENTG (the DGT's own online office). We give you both names so that, when you hear it at an agency or at another dealer, you know it is exactly the same thing.

In practice: we buy the car from you with a sale agreement and, in the same act, we sell it to the buyer with an invoice. One single process, one single day, no waiting and no complications.

What the double change gets you

  • You stop being the registered keeper on the day you hand it over. From that moment the car is no longer yours and is no longer in your name.
  • You stop being answerable for the car. No fines, no road tax, no liability for whatever happens to it.
  • You do no paperwork at all. The DGT side is ours, and you don't wait for anything.
  • And it is what makes the warranty possible. Because the car is sold by a company, the buyer gets an invoice and a 12-month warranty, which a private seller cannot give.

Why would you leave us your car?

It's the question we'd ask. Leaving a car with someone without being paid is an act of trust, and trust isn't asked for: it's shown. Here is what we can show you:

And if it doesn't sell? The two contract options

This is the real decision, and there are only two roads. Either you take the freedom to withdraw the car whenever you want, or you take the guarantee that you are paid come what may. Not both at once, and the reason is simple: we are the ones paying for the guarantee.

Option A

Free consignment

We don't sign a purchase.
  • You take the car back whenever you want and you pay us nothing.
  • Zero euros up front and zero commitment. The photos and the listings are yours to keep.
  • We don't invest in reconditioning or in an advertising campaign.
  • There is no guaranteed price: if it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell.
Option B

Guaranteed purchase at 90 days

We sign a purchase.
  • If it hasn't sold in 90 days, we buy it from you at the agreed price minus the normal depreciation over those three months. You are paid come what may.
  • We cover the reconditioning, the maintenance, the cleaning, the photos and the advertising campaign.
  • During those 90 days you can't withdraw it: the money invested is already inside the car.

We don't hide option A. The fact that a free way out exists is exactly what makes option B credible: if we tell you we'll buy it at 90 days, it's because we can, not because we've tied you in.

And what you really buy with option B is sleeping soundly: you know you will be paid for your car come what may, and that once the 90 days are up you won't have to end up at a Flexicar or a «we buy your car» outfit for them to offer you peanuts. Option B isn't for every car: we tell you whether yours qualifies when we value it, never over the phone without having seen it.

📋 And let's not confuse two different things. The 90 days are a purchase commitment to you, the owner: we bind ourselves to buy the car from you if it hasn't sold. The 12-month warranty is something else: it is the one we give the buyer when the car sells.

Which cars we're interested in

Not every car sells at the same speed, and we'd rather tell you up front than waste your time. What works well for us: cars with a valid roadworthiness test, with a C, ECO or 0 emissions label, properly serviced and with the paperwork in order. If yours has high mileage, a fault or some age on it, bring it anyway: we'll look at it and tell you the truth, even if the truth is that something else suits you better.

Where we'll come and collect it

We're in Vilobí del Penedès, less than 10 minutes from Vilafranca and about 25 minutes from Vilanova i la Geltrú and el Vendrell. We'll come and collect the car anywhere in this area:

Tell us what car it is and we'll tell you what you'd get

The more photos you send, the more accurate the figure. If you can, add a photo of the registration document and the technical sheet: with those we can give you an almost final number without you leaving home.

    The questions we always get

What does it cost me to leave the car on consignment?

Nothing up front. There is no joining fee, no listing costs, no charge for the photos, and nothing to pay if it doesn't sell in the end. What we make is inside the sale price and you know it before signing: you get 80 % of the retail price if the car is ready to go, or 70 % if the preparation is on us, and we tell you in euros, not just as a percentage.

How long does it take to sell?

Our own 2026 average is 36.1 days, and half the cars sold in 15 days or less (GSM internal data as of 07/10/2026). Yours may take more or less: it comes down to the model, the condition and above all the price. If nothing moves in 30 days, we call you to review it together; we don't leave you waiting.

Do I have to transfer the car out of my name?

There are two ways and we explain both when we value it. In one, the car stays in your name until a buyer appears. In the other we use the official DGT procedure for handing a vehicle over to a dealer, which costs an 8.67 € fee and records that the car is deposited with us. Both are legal, both go through a contract, and you choose with everything explained.

And if it hasn't sold in 90 days?

It depends which of the two options you signed. On option A, the free consignment, we give it back whenever you want and at no cost, with the photos and listings already done. On option B, the guaranteed purchase, we buy it from you at the agreed price minus the normal depreciation over those three months if it hasn't sold in 90 days: you are paid come what may, and in exchange you can't withdraw it during those 90 days, because there we have already put in the reconditioning and the campaign. Option B isn't for every car: we tell you whether yours qualifies when we value it.

And what about insurance while the car is up for sale?

If cover is needed at any point to move or test-drive the car, we take out the daily insurance ourselves and its cost is deducted from the settlement paid to the owner of the vehicle. Never from the buyer.

    What paperwork do I need?

ID, registration document, technical sheet, a valid roadworthiness test and the last circulation tax receipt paid. We request the DGT report on the car to check it has no charges, seizures or retention of title. If there's an outstanding loan, it can still be sold: it's settled or transferred and we handle it.

Can I keep using the car while it's for sale?

If it's on display here, no: that's where the people who will buy it see it. If you need it daily, tell us: there are arrangements where the car stays with you and only comes in for viewings. It's agreed beforehand and written into the contract.

Is consignment better than you buying it?

If you need the money now, better that someone buys it. We buy too and we'll give you that figure. If you're not in a hurry, consignment usually leaves you more, because the car sells for what it's worth rather than what it's worth minus a reseller's margin. We give you both figures the same day and you choose, with nobody rushing you.

What if my car comes from an inheritance?

It can be sold, but first the car has to be in the heirs' names: that's two ownership transfers, the inheritance one and the sale one. We've done it before and we handle it. Bring us the papers and we'll tell you exactly what's missing and what it costs.

Who is responsible if the car turns out to be faulty after the sale?

That's the right question, and we answer it in person with the contract in front of you, because the answer changes depending on the arrangement you choose: a car sold by its owner is not the same as a car sold by us as a business. What we won't do is leave that sentence unexplained on a website. Come over, we'll show it to you in writing and you'll understand exactly what you're signing.

We see it, we value it and we give you both figures

Free, no obligation and no need to decide on the spot. If in the end you'd rather sell it yourself, we'll still tell you what price to put on it. We'd rather you came back in two years than sell you a rush today.
